Senior Accountant
Location: St. John’s, NL (Office-based)
About the Role
Nutra Holdings is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team and report directly to the Controller.
In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while supporting the day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and a continuous improvement mindset. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to a fast-paced, growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete monthly intercompany reconciliations and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
- Prepare and reconcile various balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile sales tax accounts and prepare monthly sales tax filings for management review.
- Complete monthly inventory reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Perform monthly bank and corporate credit card reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Prepare monthly sales reporting files for management review and analysis.
- Review monthly expenses for accuracy and completeness prior to management approval.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting procedures.
- Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- CPA designation required
- 3+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in multi-entity, high-growth, or e-commerce environments is considered an asset
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
